Welcome to Francy That!

Bonjour! Bienvenue!

We’re glad you joined us.

We’ve been to France many times. Lucky us!

Travelling mostly by car and train, we’ve explored the country from north to south and from east to west. And sometimes we’ve just stayed put for a while.

We’ve roamed countless cities, towns, and villages, found ourselves in vineyards, and lost ourselves in the beautiful countryside. And we’re planning to do it many more times, as there’s always so much to see and do.

We hope you enjoy the Francy That! site. It’s our way of sharing the joys of our favourite place on earth.

In Shakespeare’s Henry V, the Duke of Burgundy describes France as ‘this best garden of the world’. In fact, there are thousands of great gardens in France – from finely manicured lawns and hedges to fields of lavender and glorious vineyards. But there’s so much more than that.

If you’ve already been there, you will have experienced some of its magic. If you’re planning to visit l’Hexagone for the first time, you are in for a treat. It will be the best trip you will ever take, until your subsequent visits to France.

King Henry and the Duke of Burgundy are long gone, but France, ‘this best garden’, is still where it has always been—and waiting for you.
