Do you enjoy the fun of the fair? Most people love fairgrounds… and we’ve been enjoying them for centuries. We love museums, too – especially the brilliant ones we find in the main cities and towns in France.
Why not enjoy both at the same time?
Sometimes, it’s good to see a museum that’s a tiny bit less serious than the usual kind. You’ll find just the thing in Paris.
It’s called the Fairground Museum (Musée des Arts Forains) and it’s been set up in the Bercy Pavilions in the 12th arrondissement.

The fun of the fair… and more
You can take a guided tour and see the museum’s collection of rides, carousels, and fairground attractions from the 19th and 20th centuries.
There are sideshows, booths, costumed characters, mechanical displays, light and sound shows, and, of course, carnival music. Even your guide is a fairground performer.
You don’t just look at exhibits; you can join in. Your tour takes you through caves, games rooms, music halls and theatres. You can watch, listen and play with the displays. You can play arcade games, take carousel rides and enjoy all the fun of the fair.
Here’s a short video with just a little of what you will see.
